These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern the use of the website www.rentacrate.co.za and the rental services provided by Rent a Crate (PTY) Ltd. (“we”, “us”, “our”).

By accessing our website, placing a booking, or renting a crate, you (“the customer”, “you”) agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Services Provided

Rent a Crate (PTY) Ltd. provides the short-term rental of dog crates intended to assist with post-operative recovery, safe confinement, or temporary management. We do not provide veterinary, medical, behavioural, or training services, and no advice provided should be considered professional or medical guidance.

2. Eligibility

By using our services, you confirm that:

• You are at least 18 years of age
• You are the lawful owner or authorised caregiver of the animal
• You are capable of supervising and caring for the animal during the rental period

3. Bookings and Rental Period

• Rental periods commence on the agreed delivery date and end on the scheduled collection date.
• Requests to extend a rental must be made prior to the collection date and are subject to availability and additional charges.
• Late returns may result in additional daily rental fees.

4. Delivery and Collection

• Delivery and collection are subject to availability and location.
• The customer is responsible for providing the correct address details and ensuring reasonable access to the property.
• Someone must be available to receive or hand over the crate at the agreed time.
• Failed deliveries or collections due to customer unavailability may incur additional fees.

5. Fees and Payments

• All fees are quoted in South African Rand (ZAR).
• Full payment may be required prior to delivery.

6. Use of Crates

• Crates must be used only for their intended purpose.
• The customer is responsible for selecting the correct crate size for their dog.
• Crates may not be modified or altered.
• Crates may not be used outdoors unless agreed in writing.
• Crates may not be used for transport unless approved by us.
• The customer agrees to keep the crate reasonably clean and hygienic during the rental period.

7. Damage, Loss, and Responsibility

• The customer assumes full responsibility for the crate from the time of delivery until collection.
• Any loss, theft, or damage beyond reasonable wear and tear will be charged to the customer.
• Replacement or repair costs will be assessed at our discretion.

8. Animal Welfare & Liability Disclaimer

• The use of a crate does not guarantee the safety, recovery, or behaviour of any animal.
• We are not liable for injury, distress, illness, or death of any animal, or for improper use or misuse of the crate.
• The customer is responsible for following veterinary instructions and supervising the animal appropriately.
• Crate use is undertaken entirely at the customer’s own risk.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Rent a Crate (PTY) Ltd. shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our services or equipment.

10. Indemnity

The customer agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Rent a Crate (PTY) Ltd., its directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, or legal costs arising from:

• Use or misuse of the crate
• Injury to animals or persons
• Breach of these Terms

11. Cancellations and Refunds

• Cancellations should be made at least 24 hours prior to the scheduled delivery, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
• Late cancellations may result in partial or no refund, depending on preparation, scheduling, and delivery arrangements already in place.
• Refunds, where applicable, will be processed within a reasonable timeframe.

12. Right to Refuse Service

We reserve the right to refuse or terminate service at our discretion, including (but not limited to) cases of misuse, non-payment, or breach of these Terms.

13. Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including text, logos, and images, remains the property of Rent a Crate (PTY) Ltd. and may not be used without prior written consent.

14. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa, and any disputes shall be subject to South African jurisdiction.

15. Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to amend these Terms at any time. Updates will be published on this page, and continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
